The Latest Results and Tables now published

It's been a busy cpouple of weeks with a few catch up games coupled with a whole host of 8's being scored... especially on the Snowdrop table.
There seems like there's a query about the official 8's leader board at the moment, however as soon as its sorted we will get it updated on here.
Hopefully the HMI and Snowdrop can catch up with their games soon so that their league position can be more accurately reflected.

Its Knock Out Cup next Monday 2nd December and a reminder to all team captains who remain in this contest should be finalising their plans with neutral venues.
Speaking of Neutral venues, Toad HQ are in the final process of securing neutral venues for Div 1 and 2 third round of games that will commence in February.
Stay tuned for all information regarding these matches, as it will test all the teams as no team will play on the same table twice for the remainder of the season.

Paul Hill (HMI) is awaiting names of any competitors who wish their names to be entered into either the Singles and Doubles Knockout Competition.

Finally, the Christmas Toad party is being organised for the 16th December. Toad HQ are currently negotiating with the Con Club, Lewes to host this event. Names of teams and numbers please.
Please remember to bring along a prize for the raffle on the evening.

Week SIX results & Tables

There's some pressure being felt in Division after this evenings result of The Rammin It boys beating Laughing Fish. There's now 5 teams in Div 1 dived by only 2 points.
The Div 2 positions are starting to settle down, but there's no telling what may happen.

There's been some late declarations of 8's scored last night, so will wait for Dave to compute that into the master frame and will publish an update shortly.

KNOCK OUT Cup - Fixtures and Venues

Yes... the full fixture list for the Knock Out Cup has been published.
Competing Captains need to take their responsibility and contact both each other to confirm they have a team available to play and consider whether they want food provided. (there may be a charge made at some venues??), then contact the pub as soon as possible.

To avoid confusion and disappointment (in the case of the previous round match: ASBO v Vol match at the Trevor) ... make contact with the venue 24 hours prior to the match day to confirm all arrangements and take note of the person you speak to when you call the pub.

Trevor Arms v Strugglers at Red Lion
Brewers Arms v Elephant at Volunteer
Horny Lodgers v Rammit at Brewers
Chalk Pit v Volunteer at Elephant and Castle
Rodmell/ABOG v Laughing Toads (TBA)
DCC v Laughing Fish at Abergavenny
Snowdrop v STC at Trevor
Long Man T v HMI at Smugglers

3rd Division Knock Out Eliminator results plus latest league tables

It was a busy evening with Division 3 teams going to neutral venues, although Rodmell V A Bunch of Girls didn't get their match played. They'll be playing on 2nd December when all the remaining teams from Div 1 and 2 play a full knock out round.
The Volunteer and Swanborough Toad Club went through to the next round.

The draw has been made and the matches and venues will be announced shortly. However whoever are pitched against the winners of ABOGs and Rodmell will have to wait to play their match.

Div 1 and 2 were embarking on the 5th match of the fixtures last night.
No additions to the Eights table this week and a couple of other postponements will mean that full use of the replay weeks will need to be considered as well as any other mutually convenient times.

Brewers Arms play hard ball

There was a sense of defeat in the air last night in Lewes.
Only a week ago the streets were afire, but last night the air was decidedly intense again. But not for the sake of trying to get to grips with the Brewers toad table which now and again allowed points to be scored for the visiting Trevor Arms team.

All for singles games were played and only one leg won by the visitors... in fact it was to be the only leg to be won by them all evening. There was much frustration expressed, yet at the same time, there was an inevitability about the outcome.

The table was mastered only by the home team and as the food was devoured, a post mortem was discussed over the last chips of the evening.

Nothing more to be discussed.... move on Trevor!!
