The Abergavenny Arms in Rodmell hosted the 2012/13 Toad in the Hole presentation event, whilst the culmination of the team Knock Out, Doubles and Singles contest were played to their conclusion.
A much respected and exclusive pub game in this part of the world, saw 70 + representatives attending this event in the quiet village of Rodmell on Monday evening.
20 teams from the locality participated in this years league matches in 2 divisions and victors of each Division were presented with trophies by chairman of the league, John Wardle.
Div One champions for a second consecutive year were the Ram team in Firle ‘Rammit
Inn’ whilst in Div Two the Brewers Arms team in Lewes ‘Sweeny Toads’ were heralded.
The winners of the Knock Out Cup were the Chalk Pit, the doubles knock out champions were Ben Ward and Tim Walker from DCC team (Cons Club) and the Singles Knock Out Champion was Shane (Chalk Pit).
In addition to this, there was the presentation of the ‘Ron Coleman Memorial Shield’ for the player who scored the highest number of 8’s on an away table. In Div. 1, Tim Walker (DCC) and Div. 2 Wayne (Abergavenny Arms) took the honours.
